NO MOW MAY
HME North Tyneside office took part in the national campaign “No Mow May” letting the lawns, grow freely around the office enabling bees, butterflies and other wildlife to get a much-needed boost this spring. All we had to do was resist the urge to cut the lawn in May. Once the grass was left various species of wild orchids grew in abundance including Bird’s nest orchid and early purple orchid along with rare meadow flowers.
Research has revealed that mowing lawns less frequently can provide enough nectar sugar for ten times the amount of bees, butterflies, moths, beetles and other pollinators.
