Mike has some 30 plus years’ experience in the electrical industry and joined Humphrey M&E Consultants in June 2019 as a Principal Electrical Engineer.
Mike started his career as an electrician in the early 90’s with a large N.E based Electrical Contractor, undertaking commercial & industrial works, moving his way into the estimating department and performing site engineering duties.
Following a number of years in technical sales for a major switchgear manufacturer and a major lighting manufacturer Mike moved into Consultancy in 2006. Since then he has developed his engineering skills and undertakes design responsibility and project delivery of projects in sectors ranging from heavy industry, commercial, educational, healthcare, defence and he has a strong background in historical buildings such as Durham Cathedral, Auckland Castle and York Minster. One of Mikes main duties at Humphrey M&E Consultants has been to expand his experience in the MOD sector developing his knowledge associated with JSP’s and specialist requirements in this field and has already delivered several high profile MOD projects.
In recognition of Mike’s commitment to Humphrey M&E Consultants he was promoted to Associate in November 2020 and promoted to Associate Director in 2022.
Outside of work Mike is a keen fell walker with a slightly fanatical approach to cross-fit , where you will find him most evenings and the odd weekend!
Steve joined Humphrey M&E Consultants in 2016 and brought with him many years of local and national experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering in a vast variety of project types.
Since joining the company, Steve has expanded his experience in all sectors and successfully delivered numerous high-profile projects.
Steve was promoted from Principal Mechanical Engineer to Associate in 2021 and promoted to Associate Director in 2022.
He has an honours degree in Building Services Engineering from Northumbria University, as well as Chartered Engineer status.
Michael joined Humphrey M&E Consultants in 2004 after gaining valuable experience as lead Electrical Design Engineer with Gateshead Council’s Architectural Design Services Department and as a Principal Engineer at nationally renowned national Consulting Engineers White Young Green.
Shortly after joining Michael was appointed as Director and took responsibility for the Electrical Services design side of the business.
Academically, Michael has an honours degree in Building Services Engineering which he gained at Northumbria University.
Michael’s extensive design expertise, coupled with earlier practical and project management experience in the Electrical Contracting Industry stands him in good stead to tackle almost any technical challenge that presents itself.
In his spare time Michael likes to spend time with his family, playing and watching football as well as the occasional round of golf.
James joined Humphrey M&E Consultants in 2017 and within 3 years was promoted to Principal Mechanical Engineer in 2020. Through his hard work and dedication to Humphrey M&E Consultants he was promoted to Associate Director in 2022.
James is a degree qualified Incorporated Mechanical services design engineer with particular interests in the fields of energy efficiency, Low & Zero Carbon technologies, building regulations and construction health and safety.
James has over 20 years post-graduate experience in both public and private sector employment. Within which he has achieved the successful design, management and co-ordination of a multitude of projects, over various industry sectors and encompassing a variety of duties.
This includes traditional design contracts, Design and Build, performance duties, feasibility studies, troubleshooting and mentoring of young Engineers. All of which has resulted in building good relationships and undertaking repeat work with a large number of key Clients.
Dave joined Humphrey M&E Consultants in 2007 as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and brought with him many years experience in mechanical building services as well as a first class honours degree in Building Services Engineering gained at Northumbria University.
Prior to this, Dave enjoyed numerous years gaining practical and managerial experience in the heavy industry and mechanical building services industry.
In 1998 Dave joined the City of Sunderland Property Services Department and led the mechanical services design for numerous prestigious projects including the construction of new schools, major social housing projects, public amenity buildings and extra-care facilities.
Since joining Humphrey M&E Consultants Dave has been promoted to Associate Director, a position in which he combines his duties between being our in house Low Carbon Consultant and Energy Assessor along with designing and managing numerous challenging projects.
In his spare time Dave enjoys watching Rugby and likes to keep himself fit with regular karate sessions.
Samantha joined Humphrey M&E Consultants in 2016 to deal with all aspects of the company’s day to day financial management.
She has over 20 years’ experience as a chartered accountant and has previously worked in an accountancy practice in the Midlands working with a wide variety of clients and has a wealth of knowledge of businesses in the professional services sector.
In February 2024, Samantha was appointed finance director in recognition of her commitment to the company. She now works closely with the other directors in all areas of financial performance.
In her spare time Samantha enjoys long walks with her Labrador and reading thriller books.
